Toy safety training

Introduction

Each toy to be placed on the market is submitted to a conformity assessment procedure which must ensure toy safety. This training will help you understand how to ensure your toy product complies with the applicable legislation.

Summary

The business operators placing Toys on the market as importer or otherwise under their own brand are responsible for compliance with the European legislation. The EU Toy Safety Directive (2009/48/EC) establishes safety standards for toys sold in the European Union, ensuring they are safe for children to use. It covers chemical, physical, and labeling requirements, as well as conformity assessment procedures and monitoring for compliance.

De EU-richtlijn voor veilig speelgoed (2009/48/EC) stelt normen vast voor speelgoed dat in de EU en de EER wordt verkocht. Hierbij gaat het om veiligheidseisen voor chemische samenstelling, fysieke eigenschappen en etikettering. Er zijn ook verplichte procedures voor het controleren van conformiteit. Binnenkort wordt deze richtlijn vervangen door een nieuwe speelgoedverordening. Blijf op de hoogte van de laatste updates over de EU-speelgoedwetgeving!
